Curriculum

The following are brief descriptions of the main projects and assignments accomplished by Studio Naturalistico Milvus:

Fauna Research on photovoltaic systems in Sicily
Regarding VIA procedure for the realization of photovoltaic systems in Sicily, Studio Naturalistico Milvus carried out specific fauna inquiries aimed at collecting basic information for the proper management of the examined territories. The inquiries were carried out in collaboration with Studio di Consulenza Ambientale Fauna Viva.

Nesting avifauna monitoring in 2 regional reserves in Basilicata In collaboration with Università degli Studi di Basilicata, Studio Naturalistico Milvus carried out an inquiry on the nesting avifauna in two Regional Wildlife Reserves: “Lago Pantano di Pignola” e “Lago Laudemio”, in order to collect basic scientific information for the compilation of management plans of the two protected areas. The information will be used to promote the value of the two sites at a scientific level.

Biodiversity monitoring in the Tempa Rossa (PZ)
The research was carried out in collaboration with Agristudio s.r.l, and aimed at collecting basic information on distribution, composition and conformation of fauna communities in the area of work for the realization of Hydrocarbons Extraction and Storage Centre in Tempa Rossa (PZ), in concession to TOTAL Italia spa. Groups of species such as Amphibians, Reptiles, Nesting Birds and Mammals were objects of the monitoring.

Ornithological monitoring in the territory of Tricarico (MT)
Studio Naturalistico Milvus carried out monitoring on nesting avifauna in the territory of Tricarico and in the IBA expansion area “Dolomiti di Pietrapertosa”, in collaboration with Società Cooperativa “Il Lanario”. The information collected enabled an update of the overview related to the ZPS and to realize a promotional paper on the ornithological aspects of the territory.

Fauna aspects in the wind park site of Antrodoco (RI)
The research was carried out in collaboration with Studio Naturalistico Hyla and aimed at providing an overview of fauna emergencies in the wind park site Terreni Rossi – Cinno, in the commune of Antrodoco (RI). Studio Naturalistico Milvus was assigned the task of coordinating monitoring activities connected with the avifauna, with particular reference to the following species/groups: Rock Partridge, Golden Eagle, Peregrine, nesting avifauna and migratory avifauna.

Monitoring of diurnal Birds in the SIC of the “Valnerina” (PG)
The research was carried out in collaboration with Studio Naturalistico OIKOS and aimed at evaluating the existence of different diurnal birds of prey in the area of the Management Plans of the SIC in the Mountain community “Valnerina”. Furthermore, the level of use of secondary grassland was assessed.
